HISTORY OF QUALITY CARE
Dr. Brandon Hollie founded Hollie Therapy and Counseling with the vision of reducing stigma towards mental health, improving couple and family relationships, and strengthening communities of color. He comes from a family with a long history in the healthcare field dating back to the 1970's. With origins in the South Side of Chicago, we are committed to serving communities that need services the most. We understand the importance of family and relationships. Thus, we strive to treat our clients with the same care that we would provide our own family. Embodying our core principles of quality, compassion, and care; we strive to provide services that create lasting change. MEET OUR FOUNDER/CEO
Dr. Hollie was born in Chicago, IL. He received his Doctorate Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University. Prior to Syracuse, He received his Bachelor’s and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Iowa, and Master’s Degree from Mount Mercy University. Dr. Hollie has presented at the local, state, national and international level on areas of poverty, neighborhood disadvantage, relationship satisfaction, and access to mental health treatment. He is a renowned couples’ therapist, with nearly a decade of experience providing services to a wide array of clients. He is an expert in communication, conflict resolution, infidelity, anxiety, depression, and men’s issues.
In addition, he has published scholarly articles on areas of gun violence, poverty, mass incarceration, parent-child relationships, and mental health. Furthermore, he is a two-time recipient of the prestigious SAMSHA AAMFT Minority Fellowship Award. While studying in New York, Dr. Hollie, along with his colleagues developed a university-community collaboration between Syracuse University’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program and a local non-profit, which provides free therapeutic services to Black and Brown communities. That partnership became one of the most accessible and affordable forms of treatment for therapeutic services in the region and received grant funding. Dr. Hollie is also a researcher by trade and has worked with federal government agencies including the Department of Labor, Department of Justice, and Department of Health and Human Services. His therapeutic work has been featured in the Daily Orange, Spectrum News, WAER TV, amongst others. Dr. Hollie has dedicated his life to de-stigmatizing mental health in the Black community, improving relationships for Black and Brown populations, and increasing access to mental health treatment.
