Ronisha, M.S., ALMFT
Clinical Therapist
Meet Ronisha
I like to think I’m somewhat of a unicorn as a therapist. I genuinely enjoy working across the lifespan—from children and teens to adults, couples, and families. Whether you are trying to reconnect with your partner, supporting a child through a difficult season, navigating anxiety or depression, working through family conflict, exploring your identity, or simply feeling stuck, you do not have to figure it out alone.
As a spouse and parent, I understand the complexities that can come with balancing relationships, parenting, responsibilities, and your own emotional well-being. It can be easy to become focused on taking care of everything and everyone around you while losing sight of yourself or your relationship. I bring an appreciation for those everyday realities into my work while recognizing that every person, couple, and family has their own story.
My approach is relational, collaborative, and grounded in Narrative Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I want to understand not only what you are experiencing, but also the relationships, experiences, culture, and systems that have shaped you. Together, we can explore the patterns that may be creating distress or disconnection and develop new ways of relating to yourself and the people who matter to you.
With couples, I incorporate relationship-focused interventions and am Level 1 trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. With children and adolescents, I may use creative and art-based interventions when emotions or experiences are difficult to put into words. Across each of these approaches, the goal is not to fit you into a particular way of doing therapy, but to find an approach that makes sense for you and the relationships that matter in your life.
I earned my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University Northwest. My training has strengthened my ability to understand mental health through individual, relational, family, cultural, and systemic perspectives.
Creating a space where you can bring your full identity and experiences into therapy is important to me. I provide affirming and culturally responsive care for BIPOC clients and people across diverse racial, cultural, gender, sexual, religious, and spiritual identities. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and welcome clients practicing Consensual Non-Monogamy (CNM), Ethical Non-Monogamy (ENM), polyamory, open relationships, and other relationship structures. You should be able to explore your identity and relationships with curiosity and respect, without assumptions about what your life or relationships “should” look like.
Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can show up as yourself. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start with where you are, understand what has shaped you, and work toward where you want to go.
It is never too late to begin a different chapter. Your story matters, and so do you.
